St. Francis Leads Girls Delta League and Commissioner Cup Standings

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The St. Francis athletics department leads the Delta League All-Sports and Sac-Joaquin Section Commissioner's Cup Standings after the Winter Sports schedule.

The Troubadours are the defending champions as the 2017-18 Delta League All-Sports champion. St. Francis won league titles this season in golf, cross country, tennis and volleyball, while finishing second in water polo and soccer. St. Francis has scored 47 points this season to lead Davis heading into the spring sports.

The award is decided on an overall points system based on league finish (9-7-6-5-4-3-2-1) across the 10 sports with each school dropping their lowest two sport finishes.

The Sac-Joaquin Section recognizes its sports champion with the Commissioner's Cup. The Troubies have 20 points to lead Whitney (14) and Granite Bay and Vista del Lago (13 points) after the winter season.

Points are awarded for a too-four finish in the second playoffs with St. Francis winning the Division II cross country title, while posting runner-up finishes in golf, soccer, tennis, volleyball and water polo.

The Cup winners are determined by a points system that includes five points for a Section championship, three points for a Section runner-up placing, two points for making the SJS semifinals or placing third and one point for placing fourth in a team-place finish sport.

St. Francis was sixth overall in 2017-18 in the Commissioner's Cup.
